Dr. Thomas Daniel is chief scientific officer at the San Diego biotechnology startup Ambrx, a company founded on the work of noted scientist Peter Schultz and his colleagues at the Scripps Research Institute. At Ambrx, Daniel heads a scientific effort to genetically engineer proteins with new amino acids beyond the common 20, with the goal of creating new or enhanced medicines.
