Feb. 10--BE CAREFUL ABOUT QUELLING THE CLAMOR FOR PROPERTY TAX RELIEF: A column about the defeat of the Alamo Community College District's $450 million bond issue prompted several of the 20,987 Bexar County residents who voted "no" to write about why they did so.
Some said that they didn't want ACCD's nursing and allied health programs moved out of the St. Philip's and San Antonio College campuses to a new, stand-alone school in the Medical Center area.
But many more said they didn't want to authorize another increase in their property tax bills.
