Feb. 10--JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -- President Bush's proposed 2006 fiscal year budget paints a bleak picture for the future of federally funded beach nourishment projects in Onslow and Carteret counties. Feasibility studies for beach nourishment in Surf City/North Topsail Beach and Bogue Banks were among line items not included the draft spending plan for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District's Civil Works program.
