Feb. 9--Mad cow disease is the latest resolution topic to come before Butte-Silver Bow commissioners.

Commissioner Charlie O'Leary requested that the council go on record against a federal government proposal to resume live cattle trade with Canada.

"This is something we can't ignore," O'Leary said. "We have a number of beef producers and a major livestock auction in this county. We also have 30,000 people who eat beef in this county."
