VF Corp.'s net income jumps 19 percent.

Feb. 9--Solid performance across VF Corp.'s business enabled the branded-apparel marketer to post record net income for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2004 yesterday.

The company, based in Greensboro, said its net income rose 19 percent to $125 million in the fourth quarter compared with the fourth quarter of 2003.

Diluted earnings rose by 14 cents to $1.10 a share, of which 7 cents came from what VF called a favorable tax settlement. Excluding the earnings from the tax settlement, VF beat by 8 cents the average earnings expectations of analysts surveyed by …
