Feb. 6--PROGRAMS PROVIDE FREE TAX ASSISTANCE: Assistance with tax forms is available to some Montgomery area taxpayers through the AARP and the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

AARP gives priority to seniors but also offers help to other taxpayers as available. VITA helps low-income, elderly and disabled filers with any simple tax return.

Both programs provide Montgomery help sites. To find a location, call 1-800-829-1040 for VITA sites and 1-888-227-7669 for AARP assistance.
