Feb. 5--A Madison developer is one step closer to getting the final nod on a major reconstruction project to spruce up the eastern corridor into Downtown from the Dane County Regional Airport.

Gorman & Co. has received approval from the city's Urban Design Commission on an $80 million mixed-use development that will offer 309 units of condominiums and about 20,000 square feet of retail space.

The project will be in the 800 block of East Washington Avenue now occupied by the Don Miller automobile dealership, which will move to High Crossing Blvd. on the far …
