Feb. 6--HARLINGEN -- Millions of dollars in federal funds could be heading toward Rio Grande Valley irrigation districts if a piece of legislation proposed by Congressman Ruben Hinojosa passes in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The bill asks for $42 million for the Lower Rio Grande Valley Water Conservation and Improvement Act, which Hinojosa and other representatives restituted at the end of January.
