Feb. 4--Members of the Osceola County Tourist Development Council on Wednesday unanimously approved a new advertising campaign designed to lure tourists to Kissimmee with a simpler approach, discarding the bulkier "Kissimmee-St. Cloud" brand.
The long-used "Kissimmee-St. Cloud" logo, with its M's stretched up to resemble the castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, will be scaled down to focus attention more on Kissimmee. Consultants for the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau said that "saying 'Kissimmee-St. Cloud' was too long," St. Cloud Mayor Glenn Sangiovanni said.
