Feb. 4--VIRGINIA BEACH -- A trip out of the Charlestowne area always takes a little longer than it should when Tassy McKenzie and her two children run errands.
That's because two big roads that are supposed to connect nearby -- Lynnhaven Parkway in Virginia Beach and Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake -- are separated by a field of grass.
To get out of her Beach neighborhood, McKenzie has to wind around to Centerville Turnpike, then hope for the best. Sometimes, It's "almost impossible to get onto Centerville," she said, because that road is so busy.
