Soy processor seeks growers to supply 15,000 acres of beans.

Feb. 4--Ag Pro Soy Processors, Massena, is sowing the seeds of what could be a major cash crop for north country farmers.

The company -- which converts organic and non-organic soybeans into meal and oil -- wants to contract for 15,000 acres of soybeans in 2005 to ensure it has a more consistent supply, particularly of certified organic beans, which it now buys from Canada, South America and China.
