Feb. 2--LAS VEGAS, N.M. -- For state Sen. Pete Campos, D-Las Vegas, the cost of resolving a decades-old conflict between private land owners in the White Peak area and hunters, hikers and other recreationists is $15 million.
Campos -- for the second time in as many years -- has introduced a bill that would appropriate $15 million from the general fund to the state Land Office to purchase the 12,000-acre Stanley Ranch in Mora and Colfax counties.
