Jan. 29--A joyful group of city officials and Bell Helicopter representatives celebrated the announcement Friday that Marine One will be built in Amarillo.

Late in the afternoon, the Secretary of the Navy announced that Team US101, led by Lockheed Martin and including Bell Helicopter/Textron, will build 23 of the high-tech, high-security helicopters for White House use.

"That didn't just happen," said Mayor Trent Sisemore. "A lot of work went into this effort.
