An Emmy Award-winning makeup artist is accusing rapper Snoop Dogg of sexual assault backstage at ABC's late-night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
The civil suit, filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Snoop and members of his entourage drugged the woman after a "Kimmel" taping two years ago and sexually assaulted her. It also claims that when she told ABC that she was going to report the incident to police, a subsidiary of the network, and later Snoop himself, began paying her living expenses.
The accuser, Kylie Bell, is seeking $25 million in damages from the incident, which she says has caused her serious emotional damage, according to a copy of the complaint available at TheSmokingGun.com.
Bell's suit says Snoop (whose real name is Calvin Broadus) approached her in January 2003 and asked her to be his makeup artist while he was co-hosting "Jimmy Kimmel Live" during the show's first week on the air. She did so, and later was at a party in Snoop's dressing room after the week's final show.
She says an associate of Snoop's gave her a glass of champagne _ which she says had been flowing freely throughout the week. After drinking it, the suit says, Bell realized she had been drugged and couldn't control her body. After that, the suit claims, she was sexually assaulted and raped by Broadus and several of his associates.
