STARKVILLE, Miss._To belittle Florida's record in Southeastern Conference play would be overcritical. But to brag about it would be overconfident.
Instead of concerning itself with their 5-1 league start, the Gators won't worry at all about the past month.
The true test still remains. And it begins tonight at Mississippi State.
"It seems like a tough task when you say, `Wow, look at the next three games,'" UF senior forward David Lee said. "But if you just look at it one at a time, we're very capable of beating Mississippi State."
If the Gators (13-4 overall) want to recapture national legitimacy, they'll certainly have the chance over the next eight days.
After tonight's game, Florida will return home to play Alabama on Saturday. Then it's off to Kentucky on Feb. 8 for the regular season's biggest road test. Three solid opponents. Three solid opportunities to garner a "good" victory for the first time this season.
