CHICAGO _ Peter Wilt empathizes with those caught up in the talk about the Sammy Sosa trade over the weekend. The Fire general manager made one of the biggest deals in team history Sunday when he sent all-time leading scorer Ante Razov to Columbus.

"In both cases you're looking at the team's main offensive weapon for years and years," Wilt said. "In both cases you have situations where the players and the teams have come to a crossroads, where it may be best for all parties that they go their separate ways. The players get a fresh start, and the teams get help at other positions and in other ways."
