In the oil industry, the trend is to drill deeper wells.
That's good news for Hydril, which makes premium connections for pipes to withstand extreme conditions.
Hydril takes drill pipes and threads them, creating connections so sections of pipe can be screwed one into another.
The company dubs them "premium" connections. They're geared for deep water offshore wells and deep gas wells, where stronger, tighter and more reliable seals are needed.
