Jan. 25--When a task force created by the Alabama Department of Education goes before the state school board during its monthly meeting Thursday, it will offer solutions to a growing problem among America's youth.

The problem is that children in America -- especially in Alabama -- are growing too much too soon. Obesity in children has medical experts across the country and the state concerned, and many point to ineffective physical education programs as one of the causes.
