Jan. 22--OCALA, Fla. -- Local citizens seeking affordable housing will soon have more options as a pair of planned apartment communities in western Ocala are poised for construction.

Blitchton Station, an 118-unit complex off Northwest 19th Avenue, and the 124-unit second phase of Green Gables Apartments off Southwest 10th Avenue, are both nearing groundbreaking kickoffs in the first half of 2005.

Both projects received local and state financial funding assistance, and will be built by Gainesville apartment developer John Curtis and his affiliated companies. Alone or …
