Jan. 22--University of Kentucky Provost Michael Nietzel is a finalist for the job of president at Southwest Missouri State University, officials announced yesterday.

Nietzel, who has been at UK since 1973 and has been provost for the past three years, released a statement but declined to be interviewed yesterday.
