Jan. 22--A man who never sat in a single classroom at the University of Oregon is helping build more of them at the UO's School of Music.

Lorry Lokey, founder and CEO of Business Wire, is donating $2 million to the music school's $15.2 million building campaign. The gift brings total donations for the project to $5 million, in addition to $7.6 million in state bonding that will be available if the university raises an equal amount.

Lokey, who was born in Portland but never attended the UO, lives in California and has made a number of donations to private colleges, but this is his first …
