New York pressure not too hot for Isiah Thomas

BKN-THOMAS-SPORTSPLUS:TB_In the 13 months since Isiah Thomas replaced Scott Layden as team president of the New York Knicks, Thomas has traded or released 15 players and acquired 14. He fired coach Don Chaney and assistants Brendan Malone, an old friend, and Lon Kruger and replaced them with Lenny Wilkens and assistants Mark Aguirre and George Glymph.

Only Allan Houston, Kurt Thomas and Michael Sweetney remain from before Thomas took over last season with the team 10-18. But the Knicks' TV ratings have increased about 40 percent, and attendance has stabilized.
