Jan. 20--Lexington area Realtors chalked up a fourth consecutive year of record home sales in 2004 -- and they expect to repeat the feat in 2005.

"The speakers at all of the meetings we are attending say this is going to continue in 2005," said Ann McDonald, president of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors.

"It's just been a phenomenal market," driven by low interest rates, a strengthening economy and local population growth, McDonald said yesterday.
