Jan. 18--A failed bond issue in September may not stop Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger from building a new facility.

The hospital's owner, Hutchinson County Hospital District, drafted a request for proposals -- the first step in building a new hospital.

The RFP could lead to a sale of the old hospital.

"Obviously, the bond issue failed and therefore the voters weren't going to support the sale of bonds or a tax increase," said Norm Lambert, the hospital's chief executive.
