Jan. 15--Verizon Wireless spent $32 million upgrading its digital networks in Utah in 2004, a pace of spending likely to continue this year.
In all, Verizon has spent $62 million since 2002 to update its transmission sites and make enhancements aimed at improving call quality while expanding the scope of its coverage areas.
Nationwide, the 42.1 million-member Verizon Wireless is spending about $4 billion a year.
