Jan. 17--Hannaford Bros. Co. is moving ahead with plans to tear down the former Grand Union supermarket building in Kingsbury and build a new store in its place with additional space for smaller retailers.

Caren Epstein, a spokeswoman for Hannaford, said the company will submit conceptual plans to the town before the end of the month and will go before the Planning Board in February, Epstein said.

"Based on the schedule this would normally take, we would hope we have a right to build this summer," she said.
