Tallahassee, Fla., regional airport is doing well despite AirTran departure.

Jan. 14--A record number of passengers used Tallahassee Regional Airport in 2004 despite AirTran's departure from the market and a difficult year for the airline industry.

"I predicted about a 2-percent growth (for 2004) and it came out at 4 percent," said Phil Inglese, airport assistant director, after the final December numbers were tallied.

Also Thursday, a national magazine named Tallahassee Regional's new food-concession operations among the top 10 in the country and three persons were added to the airport's "Wall of Fame."
