New cafe is latest addition to commercial development in downtown Greer, S.C.

Jan. 13--Wendy Mitchell has dreamed of opening a home-style restaurant in downtown for years.
But every time she visited, she'd leave disappointed.
That is, until a few months ago, when she came back and realized what she thought was impossible had happened almost overnight.
"I was astonished. There were people everywhere," she said.
"I knew it was time."
And next Thursday, her dream will come true when she opens Southern Thymes Cafe and joins more than 20 businesses that have opened downtown in the past three years.
