COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. _ Brenda Dupont guards her phone numbers, determined to ward off telemarketers.
She was shocked a few months ago when she received a call on her cell phone from an Army recruiter. The sergeant was looking for her teen-age son, Paul, a senior at Palmer High School.
The recruiter told Dupont he obtained Paul's name and her cell number from Palmer. She'd given the school the number as an emergency contact number.
"That just floored me because I didn't give permission for them to give out the phone number," Dupont said.
