ROUND ROCK, Texas, July 13 (UPI) -- Dell computers said Tuesday U.S. consumers who purchase a Dimension desktop or Inspiron notebook will be able to recycle their outdated machine at no cost.

Dell's offer is the first free home pick-up and recycling offer from a major U.S. computer manufacturer. The program begins next week.

The new program underscores Dell's commitment to lower the cost of consumer computer recycling and will increase the recovery rate of used products, officials said.
