Even though Labor Day has passed, it's still summer. But the evenings are becoming cooler and the food at dinners and parties is becoming more substantial. Time, indeed, to consider weightier wines. It's been fun, flirting with pinot gris and viognier and sipping some unpronounceable new releases from Italy or Greece. Now it's chardonnay's turn.
