LOS ANGELES _ Annette Bening's latest film, "Being Julia," will kick off the 29th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September.
Based on the novel "Theatre," by W. Somerset Maugham, "Julia" centers on a beautiful, talented and successful actress (Bening) who escapes from her loveless marriage to her theatrical producer (Jeremy Irons) into the arms of an American. When she discovers that her paramour has an ulterior motive for the affair, she sets into motion an elaborate revenge scheme that will become her greatest acting triumph.
