But "don't try to bring everything," says Lynne McAdams, owner of Details in Design in Charlotte.
McAdams' favorite part of going to the beach is vegging out with a book and relaxing.
Overplanning can detract from the experience, she says.
But what you do bring matters, says Karen Cooley, owner of Uptown Cooking in Charlotte.
