The beginning of the Bible makes it quite clear that God created both man and woman in his image. Genesis 2:18 describes the creation of woman. The Bible relates that God created woman as a helpmate for Adam, the first man. Thus, God sees woman as an equal partner in bringing to fruition the mission that he gave Adam: to work the land and to guard it and to establish dominion over the world and all of God's creations.
