U.N. war courts productive but stymied
UNITED NATIONS, June 29 (UPI) -- The United Nations war crime tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda both report difficulties meeting the Security Council's deadlines.
Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia before the U.N. Security Council Tuesday, criticized the failure of authorities in Serbia and Montenegro and in the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina to arrest 20 indicted people.
They include former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, former Bosnian Serb Gen. Ratko Mladic, and former Croatian Gen. Ante Gotovina.
