A number of restaurants have started serving unique nabe (hot pot) dishes while food products companies are devising new ideas for home use.

Butaniku Sosaku Ryori Yamato, operated by Frieden in Tokyo, serves Yakuzen Furo Choju Nabe, literally the "medicinal dish, perpetual youth and long life hot pot." It has Chinese style thick and hot broth with spices such as sesame, ginger, broad bean paste and Chinese matrimony vine fruit and is served with thin sliced pork and seasonal vegetables. It sells in a two-person serving size for 2200 yen per person.
