FOXBORO, Mass. _ Here are a couple of late developments you might not have known related to Sunday's AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts.

1. It's summertime up here.

2. This is the Super Bowl.

You'd think word would have leaked out before now.

Oh, sure, they're obliged contractually to have a game Feb. 1 in Houston, slap a Roman numeral on it and call it the Super Bowl, but let's not kid ourselves.

New England and Indianapolis clearly are the NFL's premier teams right now. The winner of this game will win one more and be champion. Simple and neat.

Philadelphia and Carolina? They are competing for the Miss Congeniality title later Sunday in the NFC …
