WASHINGTON, DC--Utah Governor Mike Leavitt (R) was confirmed October 28 by an 88-8 vote of the U.S. Senate to be the next Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He succeeds Christine Todd Whitman, who resigned in June 2003.
