The No. 1 reason, of course, is that you can't prove they're not.
But you watch USC and you realize how much lies underneath. How many ways they can win when truly challenged. How hard it is to fit them all into four mere quarters.
Maybe that's why Matt Leinart gets the ball snapped so quickly, with so much time left on the play clock, like a beauty pageant contestant trying to squeeze tap-dancing, comedy and "I Love A Parade" into three minutes.
The Trojans shoved Michigan aside, 28-14, in Thursday's Rose Bowl, improved to 12-1, and will lie back on the couch Sunday night and watch Oklahoma and LSU knock themselves out.
