LUBBOCK, Texas _ The University of Minnesota men's basketball team shot 72 percent in the second half Thursday and lost ground on the scoreboard.
As frequently as the Gophers put the ball in the basket over the last 20 minutes against Texas Tech, they allowed the Red Raiders to roam freely through their zone defense on the other end of the court.
Texas Tech pretty much took any shot it wanted and capitalized on shaky ball handling by the Gophers, who had 19 turnovers, to win, 90-73, in front of 10,524 at the United Spirit Arena.
