NEW ORLEANS _ Around the Oklahoma and LSU camps, the Rose Bowl holds little bloom.
A random sampling of four players from each team Wednesday found just one expressing an interest in seeing Southern California, No. 1 in the polls, take on Michigan.
``We can't do anything else,'' said Derrick Strait, Oklahoma's All-American cornerback. ``I'd watch it anyway, just being a fan of the game.''
LSU players, however, are guaranteed to miss at least the first quarter. Thursday's scheduled workout in the Superdome overlaps with the 5 p.m. kickoff.
``It's not like we have much choice,'' Tigers quarterback Matt Mauck said.
The standard line from both sides this week is that a national championship trophy will be awarded to the Sugar Bowl winner (part of an arrangement with the coaches' poll). Any other crown would be a bonus.
