MESA, Ariz. _ The ball Chicago Cubs fan Steve Bartman kept outfielder Moises Alou from at least attempting to catch during Game 6 of the National League championship series recently found a home.
Not for long.
Grant DePorter, managing partner of Harry Caray's restaurants in Chicago, and his partners ponied up $113,824.16 _ which includes a 15 percent buyer's premium and Illinois state tax _ for the ball in auction.
DePorter said the ball will be displayed at Harry Caray's downtown Chicago restaurant and its two other locations in the Chicago area before being destroyed Feb. 26.
