Long-troubled forwarder Eagle Global Logistics thinks it has fixed its problems at home and is now looking for more growth abroad.
Houston-based EGL said that its net profit in the third quarter slipped slightly to $5.6 million but that net revenue grew 7 percent over last year and that all its geographic areas were profitable, including North America. EGL's operating profit in North America more than doubled to $5.5 million and the domestic shipment count jumped 18 percent, giving EGL more confidence that it will reap more gains as the United States economy improves.
