Childproofing a home can be overwhelming. This is especially true in the kitchen, where water, heat and cleaners or other toxic agents are among the potential dangers. Here are some ways to make the kitchen a safer place for small children:
_ Put all sharp tools, matches, lighters and other small objects in drawers with a childproof latch.
_ Install appliance locks.
_ Put knob protectors on the stove.
_ Make sure chairs and stools are away from the stove.
_ When cooking, position all handles to the back of the stove.
_ Don't let your child play at your feet as you cook.
