ABOARD SERENADE OF THE SEAS, ST. MAARTEN _ I never thought I was the cruise type.
I hate being cooped up. I'm not a bingo player or gambler. I don't do line dancing or sexy leg contests. The world should be seen close up and face-to-face, I believe, not through a little porthole floating by.
But here I sit, melting with contentment.
Cruising has won me over.
From the balcony of my ship docked in Dutch St. Maarten, a vista shimmers of gentle green hills dotted with pastel homes. My cabin is serene cherry wood. My bones are so warm it's as if they'll never feel a Michigan winter again.
