Eighty minutes before tipoff Monday night, Kirk Hinrich was asked if he had met the Junkyard Dog.
"Who?" Hinrich said.
That's the nickname of Jerome Williams, Hinrich's new teammate.
"Not yet," Hinrich said, when recognition hit. "I will later."
Such was the order of things at the United Center, where a new Bulls coach led a new-look team into what general manager John Paxson hopes is a new era.
Fielding a team that could have worn name tags, or at least been allowed to consult playbooks, the Bulls responded to Scott Skiles' demand for more energy and intensity with a 97-87 victory over Milwaukee at the United Center.
