CHICAGO _ No matter how many fans Chicago Bears running back Brock Forsey won over with a rugged 134-yard effort Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, Anthony Thomas remains the starter when he returns from his bout with viral pneumonia. Will he return in time to face the Green Bay Packers?
"We'll see how he feels as the week goes on, but right now our people feel like they caught it early and treated it conservatively, (so) there's a good chance he'll be back,'' coach Dick Jauron said. "We'll see how his strength is.''
Thomas was sixth in the NFC in rushing with 721 yards heading into Sunday's game and began his resurgence this season with 110 rushing yards on 13 carries against the Packers on Sept. 29 at Soldier Field.
Jauron dismissed the idea that Thomas' durability deserved to be questioned, because he has missed nine games in three seasons with to aches and pains.
"Actually, nine in three years is pretty good,'' Jauron said. "It's a very physical game, and those guys get hit a lot.''
