MINNEAPOLIS _ University of Minnesota coach Dan Monson couldn't loosen his tie and relax Saturday. His men's basketball team trailed Michigan for only 16 seconds of a 87-80 victory. Minnesota led by 11 in the second half and had its inside-outside game working for the first time in weeks.
But every time it seemed the 13,965 fans at Williams Arena were ready to celebrate, the Wolverines would force a turnover or get a second-chance basket to stay within striking distance.
