LINCOLN, Neb. _ By all accounts, Kansas wasn't real excited to play this one.
And it showed. But even on a ho-hum day, it's hard not to beat Nebraska badly. The Jayhawks did just that Saturday afternoon, winning, 81-51.
The 30-point whipping was the Huskers' worst home loss since they lost to KU by 32 in their old Coliseum in 1943.
"You can't kid the guys into thinking Nebraska isn't struggling," KU coach Roy Williams said. "Our guys are going to be more fired up for a Texas and an Arizona. They weren't hanging from the rafters."
Lunch pails and blue collars only for this one. If Williams said it once, he repeated it a dozen times, "This was a workmanlike effort."
It certainly didn't have the flash and sparkle of Monday's 90-87 victory over Texas. And chances are good the Jayhawks will show more zip in Monday's date with Missouri.
