BAGRAM AIRBASE, Afghanistan _ The commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan said a war in Iraq could provoke attacks on American and coalition forces and against the U.S.-backed Afghan government.
In an interview with Knight Ridder, Army Lt. Gen. Daniel K. McNeill spoke confidently in of the security situation in Afghanistan but said: "Are there likely to be problems if there're actions in some other places? I think potentially that could occur. I believe there is potential for some acts of violence even against the transitional government."
